Why Music with Mummy ?
The value of music and song in a child’s development is well documented. Music and movement, songs and rhymes are key tools in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage in the areas of emotional and social development, physical co-ordination and speech & language acquisition.
Music is fun! All children are born musical and with a natural ability to respond and communicate through music, even before they learn to speak. Music with Mummy is a great way for a child and carer to share and enjoy music and activities each week.
Music can help learning! Recent research has shown that music making can help to develop communication, maths, listening, concentration, sharing and social skills in young children. Movement to music and developing a child’s natural sense of rhythm also aids physical co-ordination and increases self-confidence and self-expression.
